Bike Route - 2011 & 2012

Due to the way Sullivan is laid out, we have railroad tracks North, West, and South of us, and our only option is to ride East. Because of Lake Shelbyville and Route 121, there aren't any other roads that we can use to get our distance back up to 13.5 miles, so we are stuck with an 11.7 mile route this year.

The good news is that the course will be lots safer this year. We won't have to merge on the highway for a 2nd loop with bikes and cars. We will do a two loop course, but the second loop will start in town where police will have traffic stopped and we will have a lane blocked off for you to merge into. So even though I'm not happy having to shorten the course, I am very excited that we will have a safer route for everybody.

Below is a .pdf of the map we will ride.

1. Head South on Washington Street from the Civic Center (transition area).

2. Turn Left (East) on Jackson Street (Route 121).

3. Turn Right (South) on County Road 1300 East (at the Masonic Home).

4. Turn Right (West) on County Road 1275 North

5. Continue on road, which curves into Lebanon Street (North) at the trailer court, and becomes Water Street (West) by the cemetery.

6. Turn Right on Washington Street.

7. After your first loop, turn Right at Jackson Street, and do loop again (then following instruction 3 above). The second time through the loop, go Straight through Jackson Street and keep heading North to the Civic Center (transition area).
